Getting around the re:Invent venues

  • Wynn | Encore

Sessions, help desk and Thursday's security focus. Wynn and Encore connect indoors, and a bridge links Wynn to The Venetian. Monorail: No station; walk via The Venetian.

  • The Venetian

The center of the week: every keynote, the Expo, badge pickup and evening receptions. Monorail: Nearest: Harrah's / The LINQ.

  • Caesars Forum

Help desk, Customer Showcase and the AWS Certification Lounge. In 2025 a temporary walking route to The Venetian opened during Expo hours. Monorail: Harrah's / The LINQ.

  • Caesars Palace

Sessions, self-paced learning and the Tuesday and Wednesday networking receptions. Monorail: Flamingo / Caesars Palace.

  • MGM Grand

Badge pickup and sessions. The farthest venue from The Venetian, at the south end of the campus. Monorail: MGM Grand.

  • Allow 30 to 45 minutes between activities

AWS gave this guidance in 2025 for walks between venues and within the same venue. Group your sessions by venue where you can.

  • Shuttles link most venues

They run during conference hours, with live times and stops in the AWS Events app. In 2025 there was no shuttle between Wynn and The Venetian (use the bridge) or between Caesars Forum and The Venetian.

  • The monorail is free with your badge

Show your badge at the entrance. It runs along the east side of the Strip and closes earlier than usual that week: midnight from Nov 29 to Dec 2, and 1:00 AM on Dec 3.

  • Airport to the Strip

About 15 to 25 minutes by rideshare (roughly $20 to $35, more with surge pricing) or taxi ($25 to $40). Rideshares between north and south venues can run $12 to $20 at busy times.

Getting into sessions

  • Reserve seats in the attendee portal's event catalog. Keynotes and lecture-style breakouts don't need a reservation.
  • Arrive at least 10 minutes early. In 2025, reserved seats still empty at that point went to the walk-up line.
  • No seat left? In 2025 the walk-up line started forming an hour before each session.
  • Repeat sessions have "-R" in the session ID, so a clash is often fixable.
  • Install the free AWS Events app before you fly. It has maps, live shuttle times and session reservations.

Food and drink at re:Invent

  • Meals are included on full days

Breakfast, lunch and snacks are served, with dishes labeled for allergens and as vegetarian or vegan. Halal and kosher options are available while supplies last, and you can pre-order them through customer support.

  • Evenings with food

The Tuesday and Wednesday networking receptions include food and drinks, and re:Play on Thursday has curated food.

  • Book client dinners early

Restaurants near the venues fill up during re:Invent week. Options steps away include CUT by Wolfgang Puck and Bouchon at The Venetian, and Nobu and Hell's Kitchen at Caesars Palace.

  • Pack snacks and water

Lines and long walks make it easy to skip a meal. A protein bar and a refillable bottle help, since Las Vegas air is very dry.

Expect highs around 61°F (16°C) and lows around 42°F (6°C) in early December, with rain unlikely. Meeting rooms and casinos vary in temperature, so layers help.

re:Invent tips that save your week

Getting a ride

  • Rideshare pickups can be a long walk. Big resorts put Uber and Lyft pickups in garages or at the back. At MGM Grand it's the first floor of the self-parking garage, and at The Venetian it's the back wall of the parking ramp's second level. Spots can move, so ask staff if you can't find it.
  • Skip the busiest pickup line. When a session block or reception lets out, the rideshare line at the big venues backs up. Walking to a smaller hotel nearby and requesting your ride from its entrance is often faster, and taxis queue at main entrances.
  • Expect surge pricing. Rideshare prices jump when demand spikes, which happens a lot during conference week. Check a taxi before you accept a surged fare.
  • Get to the shuttle early. Shuttle lines build at peak times. Attendees in past years recommended arriving 15 to 20 minutes before you need to leave.

Staying comfortable

  • Carry water all day. The desert air is very dry and the walks are long. Refill a water bottle between sessions, and pack lip balm and eye drops.
  • Rotate your shoes. Bring two pairs of supportive shoes you've already broken in and switch them each day. AWS's own advice is to leave new shoes at home.
  • Bring a layer. Session rooms run cold, and early December evenings drop to around 42°F (6°C).
  • Casino floors allow smoking. Nevada permits smoking in casino gaming areas, and many routes between rooms cross them. If smoke bothers you, look for routes around the gaming floor and pack any medication you need.

Planning your day

  • Stay put for half a day. Moving between venues eats the gap between sessions. Group your sessions so you stay in one venue for a morning or an afternoon.
  • Leave room in your agenda. Book about three quarters of your time and keep the rest for hallway conversations, booth visits and meetings that come up on the day.
  • Eat early. Lines grow quickly at peak meal times. Eat as soon as service opens, and keep a snack in your bag for days that run long.
  • Look after your voice. If you have back-to-back meetings, throat lozenges and a basic pain reliever in your bag help get you through the week.

What to pack for re:Invent

Expect a lot of walking between and inside venues.

  • Comfortable shoes you've already broken in (AWS says don't bring new ones), plus a spare pair
  • Phone charger and a power bank
  • Refillable water bottle (the air is very dry)
  • Photo ID
  • Laptop or tablet, with chargers
  • Spare room in your bag for swag
  • Lip balm, lotion and eye drops for the dry air
  • A light layer for cold rooms and cool evenings
  • Business cards or a digital profile to share
  • Snacks for between sessions
